However, the question remains: will these features be enough to justify the phone’s price tag? To address this concern, Vivo has aimed to offer a well-balanced combination of hardware and software in all aspects.

Furthermore, the Vivo V27 Pro offers numerous improvements over its predecessor, which we will explore in-depth in this review. So, without further delay, let’s dive in.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Review: Performance & Display

Starting with performance, the V27 Pro packs a punch with its MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of internal storage. I tried playing demanding games like COD: Mobile and Asphalt 9: Legends on it, and I must say, it handled them like a champ! The device remained very responsive and lag-free even with the graphics settings set to the maximum. Plus, its heat management was pretty good too, even during long gaming sessions.

When it comes to RAM management, the device handles lightweight apps like web browsers and social media apps like Instagram or Facebook effortlessly. However, for heavier apps like COD: Mobile, the onboard RAM expansion of 8GB definitely helps. So, if you’re into gaming, I suggest keeping the RAM extension on.

Now, let’s talk about the display. The V27 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a gentle 3D curve at the edges and a small cut-out for the front-facing camera. The bezels surrounding the screen are also thin, which looks pretty sleek. With a resolution of 2400×1080 (FHD+), the display offers excellent clarity and sharpness.

At first, the colors appeared a bit dull with the default settings, but after tweaking them a bit, I found the perfect balance that suited my personal preference. The display is capable of a peak refresh rate of 120Hz and includes an adaptive refresh rate feature called Smart Switch, which automatically adjusts the screen refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz. Although, I recommend sticking with the 120Hz setting for the best experience, especially when gaming. The display is also compatible with HDR10+ content on Netflix, and I must say, it looked stunning!

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Review: Camera and Design

Let me tell you about the camera on the Vivo V27 Pro 5G. This phone has four cameras, with three on the back and one on the front. The primary rear camera is 50MP and delivers vibrant and detailed photos. Optical Image Stabilization helps to minimize shakiness in the image. There’s also an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. The front camera is 50MP too, but the images may appear overexposed and unnatural. However, if you like smoother skin tones, you might enjoy it.

Now, let’s talk about the design of the Vivo V27 Pro. This phone is relatively lightweight, weighing only 182g, and slim compared to other smartphones in its price range. It has a glass coating covering the display and back, giving it a premium feel, but it may not be as durable as an aluminium frame phone. There’s a rectangular camera module on the back, housing the three cameras, which protrudes less than usual on camera phones. The phone is available in two colors, Noble Black and Magic Blue, with the latter being a navy-blue hue. However, there’s no official IP rating, so it’s not water-resistant, and the glass back may not withstand a severe impact.

Overall, the Vivo V27 Pro 5G has an attractive design and aesthetic appeal, but there are some issues with durability and protection.

Vivo V27 Pro 5G Review: Battery life

Let’s talk about the battery life of the Vivo V27 Pro 5G. Compared to some of its top-notch competitors like the IQOO Neo 7 and OPPO Reno8 T 5G, this phone comes with a relatively smaller battery of 4600mAh. When I used it for basic tasks like texting and music streaming, it lasted until bedtime with some battery life left. However, when I used it for more demanding tasks like gaming, taking photos, or social media, I found myself feeling anxious about the battery life, as it couldn’t last an entire day.

On the bright side, the Vivo V27 Pro 5G does come with 66W fast charging capability, and with an active internet connection, it can charge from 0% to 100% in just 45 minutes. That’s pretty impressive!

Conclusion

Overall, I think the Vivo V27 Pro 5G is a great option for those looking for a smartphone priced below ₹40,000, especially for camera enthusiasts, gamers, or those who prefer a slim and lightweight phone. However, if you prioritize the best camera or user interface experience, you may want to check out other options like the iQOO Neo 7 or OPPO Reno8 T.
