BMW launched the updated BMW M340i 2023 in India at a price of Rs 69.20 lakh (former showroom). It was introduced to the market alongside the BMW XM at an event held in Delhi. The performance sedan gets an aesthetic overhaul with the introduction of new features.
On the outside, BMW equips the 340i with updated new LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, new alloy wheels, and a sharper new grille. The main highlights of the update are the one-piece curved display on the dashboard with a fully digital instrument panel on the right and the 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new BMW M340i is equipped with a 3.0-liter petrol engine that produces 382 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The updated M340i also benefits from BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive technology.
The cabin of the new facelift BMW 340i has also been revised and now features the latest curved screen layout combined with an infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster. Plus, there’s also a subtle update under its hood. Deliveries of the M340i will begin in India from January 2023.
Starting with its design, now it looks more muscular and distinct. The grille features a glossy black interior with a chrome frame and mesh design. On either side of the grille are sleeker headlights with sharper LED daytime running lights (DRL). These are adaptive LED headlights with blue accents. The front bumper now looks quite sporty and angular with much larger air intakes. At the rear, the taillights remain essentially the same, but the bumper integrates a smaller diffuser and a large glossy black area with vertical reflectors. In terms of dimensions, the M340i is now 4mm longer.
The M340i is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six with mild hybrid assistance, developing 369 hp and 500 Nm.
The interior of the BMW M340i has more significant changes. It now features the BMW i4’s iDrive eight curved display that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen. The upper part of the dashboard has been revised to incorporate new screens and have thinner air intakes, while the bottom and canter console remain unchanged.
